The farmers receive special training on topics such as gender equality and how to avoid child labor and discrimination. The Rainforest Alliance is dedicated to ensuring better living conditions for farmers by supporting them with more sustainable farming methods. This allows farmers to achieve higher crop yields, benefit from lower costs and better adapt to the consequences of the climate crisis. Certified farmers also actively contribute to environmental protection, for example through the careful handling of natural resources, optimal use of fertilizers and pesticides, and by avoiding waste. They are also taught in training courses how to conserve protected forest areas and thus maintain biodiversity.
