Responsible supply chains with amfori BSCI and Sedex

Secure jobs or the payment of the legally required minimum wage is important to us, but unfortunately not a given for many employees along our supply chain. Delica is a member of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (amfori BSCI) and the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex) platform. We not only implement the principles and requirements for production and working conditions specified by these two standards at our own sites, but are also committed to ensuring that they are recognized and implemented along our supply chains.

Our producers' social conditions are a major concern for the entire company. This is why we have been a member of the amfori-BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) sustainability initiative since 2014. This shows our commitment to socially acceptable production and working conditions in our supply chains. The amfori-BSCI code of conduct is primarily based on the core conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), international agreements such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, guidelines on children's rights and entrepreneurial practices, the UN "Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights", the OECD directives and the UN Global Compact. As a member of amfori, we call for and promote decent working conditions in supply chains and are committed to observing and implementing internationally applicable working conditions and human rights standards. Furthermore, we do not condone any form of forced or child labor. All of our suppliers recognize the amfori-BSCI code of conduct and are obliged to apply the relevant guidelines and requirements in both their own and their producers' business. We follow a risk-based monitoring approach and arrange for independent inspections.

Our sites in Buchs (AG) and Birsfelden (BL) are regularly and successfully inspected in accordance with the SMETA audit procedure. The audit covers issues such as working conditions, workplace safety, hygiene, environmental management, and the consideration of environmental and social aspects in the supply chain.

Sedex promotes the exchange of information and cooperation between companies in the field of sustainable and ethical business practices with the aim of integrating labor and social standards into global supply chains. Through its membership, Delica is always at the cutting edge and at the same time able to introduce sustainable standards in global supply chains.
Our sustainability goals are divided into seven goal areas and we work towards them through specific projects and measures. We are committed to sustainable procurement, working and production methods along the entire value chain.
The following summary presents a selection of our partnerships and projects and gives interested customers and consumers an insight into our commitment.
